Best example yet…

Nate and I were talking last night about making eye doctor appointments.  We haven’t been in over 3 years! … not good…. Anyhow, you may be asking yourself, “Kristin, what does this have to do with perfectionism?”  Well, let me tell you.  My husband, (love him dearly) is also a perfectionist extraordinaire … you can imagine the therapy sessions we have!  Getting to the point, he told me that when

Well last night was our End of the Year celebration at my work. It’s always a bittersweet time of year because 1. I can’t believe it’s over, 2. It makes me extremely sad I have to say bye to my students and 3. the anticipation of next year and a new group. Anne Lamott has been a profound voice in my life. In the past few years I have had the opportunity to hear her speak and meet her in person. Most recently, I saw her and Elizabeth Gilbert (Eat, Pray, Love) speak at UCLA together. Let’s just say that was pretty much a dream come true for me. I got to thinking about those college essays you write, “Pick 4 people

Welcome to A Beautiful Mess

Welcome to my blog. This should be an adventure! I have never blogged before and am anxious to see what this whole thing is about. After starting a short one on my website, my excellent design team decided to go another route to Word Press, so I’m trying to figure all of this out as we speak. Thank you ahead of time for your patience and understanding as my brother
